My name is Bill Brown, a multi-dimensional manufacturing/quality /operations professional with more than 25 years experience managing factories, manufacturing products, leading teams, solving problems, and developing organizations for improved product, process, and company performance.

My extensive experience at Eastman Kodak, working in its flagship high-volume equipment business, has positioned me to lead your teams to world-class excellence. I reinforce my leadership and organizational management skills with a strong background in product manufacturing, process management and optimization, and an affinity for building effective relationships on the factory floor and across organizational boundaries.

As a hands-on multi-dimensional executive with a passion for excellence my 25+ years leadership experience in manufacturing and quality organizations (nationally and internationally, applying Lean, six-sigma, and organizational development to close gaps to world-class performance) inspires me to pursue excellence in manufacturing with a keen desire to maintain manufacturing as a vital competency in the US.
For manufacturing to be sustained, however, we must have the most customer-focused, quality-obsessed, productivity-minded leaders relentlessly pursuing the elimination of waste while empowering teams to achieve to their highest potential.
I am a leader with the skills to move manufacturing forward. My education (BS in Engineering, MBA in General Management), my certifiable skills (200 hours of Blackbelt training, ASQ Certified Quality Manager, and a pending APICS CPM) along with my vast range of experiences has prepared me to make substantial contributions to companies that desire to make their manufacturing capabilities a source of competitive advantage.

Leadership and Management: Managed 600+ employees across multiple plants providing leadership to all improvement initiatives.
P&L, multi-site: Driven significant margin improvements in $150M product bill (across 18 cost centers).
Strategic Deployment: Delivered $53M of productivity improvements in 1 year in a $450M business unit; international scope, with projects in 3 countries.
Plant Turnaround: Increased operating margin $6M, improved quality 50%, and lead-time 30% in one year.
Quality Systems and Continuous Improvement: Reduced defects by 50% or more in one year, on three occasions, in three countries. Built new ISO 9001:2000 quality system. Certified Quality Manager, Black belt.
Plant Start-Up & Management: Greenfield operation in Mexico. JV in China. Lean focused factory in US.
New Product Development: Reduced development cycle time by 80%. Produced $4.5M incremental sales.
Organization Development: Experienced coach and developer of high performance teams; balanced scorecards, cross-functional leadership, personal commitment to success of each employee, effective feedback. Promote inclusion, and recognition.
